Syed Azmatullah Husseni is an Indian politician and a senior leader of the Indian National Congress (INC). Known for his organizational skills and grassroots connect, he has served the party in various important roles over the years. Political Career

Syed Azmatullah Husseni began his political journey with the Indian Youth Congress (IYC), where he rose quickly through the ranks. On 31 July 2010, he was appointed as National Secretary of the IYC, with the responsibility of overseeing the Madhya Pradesh State unit and the Training Department. His performance in mobilizing youth and building organizational capacity was widely recognized.

In December 2012, he was elevated to the position of General Secretary of the Indian Youth Congress, a role he held until July 2015. During this period, he was entrusted with overseeing the party’s work in four states and two Union Territories, while also heading both the Training and Programme Departments of the IYC.

One of his significant contributions was in leadership training and youth mobilization. He played a central role in organizing post-election training programmes across the country, often traveling extensively to ensure effective coordination between the IYC, Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC), the training teams, and the Jawahar Nehru Leadership Institute (JNLI). Under his leadership, the Youth Congress successfully completed training sessions in over 30 states in the first round and about 15 states in the second round, strengthening the party’s organizational framework and empowering thousands of young leaders.

At the state level in Telangana, Husseni has held several key positions within the Congress party. He has served as General Secretary of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), Convenor of the TPCC Campaign Committee, and is presently the in-charge of Nizamabad district for the party. In all these roles, he has focused on expanding the party’s reach, connecting with local communities, and addressing pressing social issues.

Currently, as Chairman of the Telangana State Waqf Board, Husseni is working to protect and regulate Waqf properties across Telangana, emphasizing good governance, transparency, and community welfare.
