SECRETARY Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee

About

Early Life & Education

Mohammed Ayub was born on 1st May 1973 in Warangal district, Telangana. From a young age, he was inspired by the values of service, leadership, and social responsibility. His student days marked the beginning of his political journey when he actively engaged in campus-level politics. After completing his B.Sc. in Chemistry, he went on to serve as Secretary of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) at Arts & Science College, Warangal, in 1991. This early exposure laid the foundation for his lifelong commitment to public service and political engagement.

Political Career

Ayub’s rise in the Congress Party was steady and consistent. Between 1992 and 1994, he was the President of the Rajiv Youth Forum in Kothaguda Mandal, mobilizing young people toward politics and community welfare. From 1994 to 1996, he served as Convenor of the Mandal Congress Party in Kothaguda and simultaneously worked as the Assembly Constituency Coordinator for Narsampet. His responsibilities grew further when he became Block Convenor for Gudur in the Narsampet constituency (1996–1998), followed by his election as Mandal President of the Congress Party in Kothaguda from 1999 to 2002.

Recognizing his growing influence, the party entrusted him with higher responsibilities, appointing him as District Secretary for Minority Affairs between 2003 and 2007. In 2007, he rose to become District Secretary of the Congress Party in Warangal, a position he continues to hold. Over time, his dedication elevated him to the Secretary of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) and President of its Minority Cell, strengthening his role at the state level.

Election Campaigns & Key Contributions

Ayub’s political journey is deeply intertwined with his contributions to electoral campaigns. As early as 1988, he campaigned in the Mandal elections in Kothaguda, where Congress secured the MPP seat. His leadership during the 1991 Parliamentary elections in Kothaguda Mandal helped Congress candidate Ramasayam Surender Reddy secure a massive victory. He continued to play pivotal roles in campaigns such as the 1992 District Cooperative Elections, the 1994 Assembly elections as constituency coordinator, and the 1995 Mandal MPP elections, where Congress secured key victories.

In 1998, he took charge as Organizing Secretary for Dr. Y. S. Rajasekhar Reddy’s public meeting in Narsampet, which turned out to be a major success under the guidance of Sri Baswaraju Saraiah. In the 1999 Assembly elections, Ayub campaigned for Shri Donti Madhavan Reddy, followed by successful involvement in the 2000 Cooperative and School Committee elections and the 2001 MPP elections in Kothaguda. His contributions were especially significant in the 2004 Assembly elections, where he campaigned for Baswaraju Saraiah, securing a bumper victory for the Congress.

His continued role in electioneering was evident in the 2005 Warangal Municipal Corporation elections, where Congress gained a majority, and in the 2009 Assembly elections, once again ensuring the success of Baswaraju Saraiah in Warangal (East). Even after that, Ayub remained actively engaged in all development and election-related activities under Congress leadership, proving himself a consistent and reliable grassroots strategist

Social & Community Work

Beyond politics, Mohammed Ayub has been deeply committed to social causes and community development. He has served as Vice President of the District Minority Welfare Society in Warangal, Secretary of the Movement for Muslim Rights, and Vice President of the Minorities Poor People’s Marriage Welfare Society, helping economically weaker families with marriage support. He also worked with organizations such as the Arabic Schools Union, Labour Union, Function Halls Workers’ Union, and the Moulana Azad Youth Association, reflecting his wide-ranging engagement in grassroots welfare.

Since 1989, Ayub has organized and participated in numerous social programs, including blood donation drives, health camps, dharnas, and relief efforts during floods. He spearheaded welfare initiatives like distributing sewing machines, clothing, and essential goods to underprivileged families across Warangal, ensuring his presence not just as a politician but also as a community worker.

Personal Life

At heart, Mohammed Ayub is known as a humble, approachable, and people-centric leader. His personal values of simplicity and dedication to service reflect in his public life. Even while holding important organizational posts in the Congress Party, he has continued to remain closely connected with ordinary citizens, especially the youth and minorities.
