CM Revanth Reddy blames KCR, KTR, and Kishan Reddy for stalling Hyderabad Metro Phase-II since 2017. Citizens demand action, not excuses.

Hyderabad Metro Phase-II, expected to be ready in 2017, is still nowhere in sight. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy clarified that L&T has not withdrawn from the project but admitted it suffered huge losses during the first phase. He questioned why people should continue to pay the price for the “mistakes” of former CM K Chandrashekar Rao and the delays caused by political interference.

Revanth further accused Union Minister Kishan Reddy and BRS leader KT Rama Rao of deliberately obstructing the project for their political gains. Despite his repeated appeals to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Centre has not extended the needed support. Instead, new conditions and fresh agreements are being used as hurdles.

The truth is simple: lakhs of Hyderabadis depend on the Metro every day, and expansion could triple ridership, reduce traffic, and transform the city’s connectivity. Yet, negligence, blame games, and vested interests have left the project hanging for nearly a decade. Citizens deserve a Metro that works—not another round of excuses.
