Telangana Speaker Launches Indiramma Housing Scheme in Vikarabad

Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, who also represents the Vikarabad constituency, inaugurated Indiramma Houses at Venkatapur Tanda on Thursday, marking a significant step forward in the state government’s housing initiative. During a programme held at his MLA camp office, he also distributed housing documents to 29 tribal beneficiaries from Madanapalle village, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive development.

The event was attended by District Collector Prateek Jain, SP Narayana Reddy, public representatives, officials and several community members.

During the interaction, Prasad Kumar emphasised the government's focus on providing permanent housing to tribal communities, particularly the Chenchus. He informed that houses had been specifically approved for tribal residents and instructed officials to ensure quality construction of pucca homes. He also highlighted recent infrastructure upgrades, including CC roads worth ₹7 lakh and internal sewerage canals costing ₹10 lakh completed in Chenchu Colony, Madanapalle.

The initiative demonstrates the Congress government’s focus on delivering visible results at the grassroots level. By prioritising housing and tribal welfare, the administration aims to address longstanding gaps in development and make welfare benefits more accessible.

For rural and tribal families, such interventions could bring long-term stability and reinforce trust in government-led social welfare programmes.
