Shortage of voter revision Forms 6, 7 and 8 in parts of Telangana raises concerns as 73.39 lakh electors remain outside the draft roll after SIR.

Hyderabad: The Telangana electoral revision process has run into fresh concerns over the availability of Forms 6, 7 and 8 at several locations, leaving voters seeking registration, corrections and objections struggling to submit their claims.

The issue comes amid the exclusion of 73,39,235 electors from the draft roll under the ASDD category following the SIR exercise. Officials have said the figure includes voters classified as dead, absent, shifted or already enrolled elsewhere.

With the claims and objections window now open until September 16, timely availability of the required forms will be important to ensure eligible voters can challenge incorrect entries or restore their names.

Analysis: With such a large number of deletions, timely availability of correction forms is essential. Any delay or shortage could add to confusion among voters and undermine confidence in the revision exercise.
