BRS, AIMIM and BJP leaders marked Independence Day in Hyderabad with flag-hoisting ceremonies, while KTR targeted the Revanth Reddy government over key issues.

Opposition parties in Telangana observed the 80th Independence Day in Hyderabad with flag-hoisting ceremonies and sharp political exchanges.

AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi unfurled the national flag at Madina Circle near Charminar, while BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) led celebrations at Telangana Bhavan.

KTR used the occasion to criticise Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, questioning his government’s approach to the Telangana development agenda and the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme. He also mocked the CM’s claim of working 18 hours a day.

Meanwhile, BJP MLC AVN Reddy led the party’s “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, stressing the importance of reminding younger generations about the sacrifices made during India’s freedom struggle.

The celebrations combined national pride with Telangana’s familiar political rivalry. With major parties already sharpening their ground-level campaigns, Independence Day events also offered another platform to reinforce their political messaging.
