The Telangana Haj Committee will refund the Rs 10,000 fuel surcharge paid by Haj pilgrims from the state, with the reimbursement to be borne by the Telangana government.

The Telangana Haj Committee has announced that pilgrims from the state who performed Haj in 2026 will receive a refund of the Rs 10,000 differential airfare surcharge collected by the Haj Committee of India due to higher aviation fuel and travel costs.

Haj Committee Chairperson Syed Ghulam Afzal Biyabani said pilgrims who are yet to pay the additional amount must deposit it as directed under Haj Committee of India Circular No. 42. He added that the Telangana government, in line with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's assurance, will reimburse the entire amount after the necessary formalities are completed through the Telangana Haj Committee.

The decision is expected to provide financial relief to Haj pilgrims from Telangana who had to bear additional travel expenses. Pilgrims should retain payment records and follow official instructions from the Telangana Haj Committee to ensure a smooth reimbursement process.
