Telangana Govt Releases ₹200 Cr for Flood Relief in 26 Districts

Hyderabad, Sept 3: The Telangana government has sanctioned ₹200 crore towards flood relief, restoration and rehabilitation works in the state. As per GO RT No. 43 issued on Tuesday, the aid will cover 26 flood-hit districts, with special assistance of ₹10 crore each to Medak, Nirmal, Kamareddy, Kumram Bheem Asifabad, Nizamabad and Rajanna Sircilla.

The funds will be used for repairing damaged roads, culverts, bridges, restoring electricity, and supporting displaced families. The Revenue Department noted that Kamareddy received a record 50 cm rainfall in two days, while adjoining districts got 25–40 cm. Overall, Telangana has received 25% above-normal rainfall this monsoon, with several districts reporting “large excess” rainfall.
