Chicago/New York: Demonstrators rallied in major US cities on Labor Day, demanding higher wages and denouncing former President Donald Trump’s policies. Organized by groups like One Fair Wage, protests were held in Chicago, New York, Washington D.C., San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland and Seattle.

In New York, crowds gathered outside Trump Tower chanting “Trump must go,” while Chicago protesters called for a $15 minimum wage and opposed deploying the National Guard. Along the West Coast, rallies targeted what activists described as a “billionaire takeover,” with unions and workers’ groups joining in.

Speakers highlighted issues of low wages, immigrant rights, healthcare, and democracy. “Workers should be more powerful than the small billionaire class,” said Seattle Councilmember Teresa Mosqueda.
