Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Udupi and Goa today to inaugurate key religious infrastructure including a 77-ft bronze Lord Ram statue, participate in the Gita Parayana programme, and address spiritual gatherings.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a day-long visit to Karnataka and Goa today, where he is scheduled to inaugurate multiple religious initiatives and participate in significant spiritual gatherings.

His first stop will be at Sri Krishna Matha in Udupi, Karnataka, where he will take part in the Laksha Kantha Gita Parayana programme. During the visit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Suvarna Teertha Mantapa located in front of the Krishna sanctum and dedicate the Kanaka Kavacha for the revered Kanakana Kindi.

Later in the day, Narendra Modi will travel to Goa to join the 550th Year Celebrations of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math on the occasion of Sardha Panchashatamanotsava. A key highlight of the visit will be the unveiling of a 77-foot bronze statue of Lord Ram, along with the inauguration of a Ramayana-themed garden and park. The Prime Minister is also expected to address the gathering and release both a commemorative postage stamp and a coin.

The visit is seen as a symbolic outreach, reinforcing cultural and religious tourism in coastal Karnataka and Goa. Analysts note that such engagements often boost regional visibility and tourism-linked infrastructure, especially ahead of major festival seasons. The focus on heritage projects also aligns with the Centre’s broader efforts to promote traditional values and spiritual heritage as drivers of national identity.
