Aizawl: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Mizoram and Manipur on September 13, officials said. In Aizawl, he will inaugurate the 51.38-km Bairabi–Sairang railway line, a key project under the Centre’s Act East Policy to boost connectivity and economic integration in the Northeast.

Mizoram officials said Modi may later fly to Manipur, marking his first visit since ethnic violence broke out in May 2023, though the final itinerary is awaited.

Ahead of the visit, Mizoram Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena held a review meeting on security, traffic, reception and public participation for the inauguration ceremony in Lammaul.
