Guwahati, Sept 5: Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind president Mehmood Asad Madani slammed Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, saying those who spread hate should be sent to Pakistan, not Bangladesh. “India is a wonderful country built on brotherhood. People with power should not divide it,” he said at a press conference in Guwahati.

The remarks came after Sarma vowed to send Madani to Bangladesh, accusing him of working against Assam’s interests. This face-off follows the state’s demolition drive in Golaghat district, which displaced over 3,500 families. The Supreme Court has ordered status quo on the evictions.
