KTR Gears Up BRS for Jubilee Hills Bypoll: Will Cadre Morale Defeat Congress?
BRS leader KT Rama Rao has begun early preparations for the Jubilee Hills bypoll, rallying party cadre and attacking Congress policies. Critics say fear tactics may not work with voters this time.
With the Jubilee Hills Assembly bypoll approaching, BRS working president KT Rama Rao has launched an aggressive campaign to lift his party’s spirits and retain the party’s grip on Hyderabad politics. Despite losing ground after the Congress came to power, BRS still hopes to prove its strength in the city.
KTR has been holding meetings at the division level, engaging with incharges and urging workers to highlight the failures of the Congress government. He has warned voters that supporting Congress could give the ruling party a “licence to demolish houses,” a statement that critics call a fear-mongering tactic to win support.
The BRS leader has also promised a revival of the party’s “Vijaya Yatra” (victory march) starting from Jubilee Hills, portraying it as the beginning of a comeback. Party leaders even claimed that winning local body elections would shift power dynamics so drastically that “police personnel will line up for appointments with Ram Anna.”
Observers note that such tall promises and warnings may rally the cadre, but whether these tactics will convince the general public is uncertain. With defections, by-poll losses, and growing anti-incumbency, analysts believe the challenge for BRS is not just boosting cadre morale but regaining the trust of ordinary citizens.
For voters, the key question is: will KTR’s rhetoric on development be enough, or will people demand accountability from both Congress and BRS before casting their vote?
