DK Shivakumar Hails Telangana’s Vision, Calls Southern States ‘Partners, Not Competitors’

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar joined the Telangana Rising Global Summit at Bharat Future City, commending the ideas and policy direction showcased as Telangana completes two years of Congress governance.

Applauding Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Shivakumar said the state’s confidence and reform-focused mindset were clearly reflected in the summit’s discussions and presentations.

Underscoring the importance of collaboration across the region, Shivakumar stressed that southern states must work together rather than compete for attention or investment. “Karnataka believes in meaningful cooperation. We want the South to grow as one unit—brothers, not rivals,” he said.

He added that Karnataka values platforms that promote shared learning and long-term economic partnerships, especially as states push for innovation-led development.

Looking ahead, Shivakumar said he is eager to see Telangana’s growth roadmap take shape and expressed his commitment to deeper regional cooperation. “As Telangana charts its future, we extend our best wishes and look forward to building a stronger, more prosperous nation together,” he said.

Shivakumar’s remarks carry political and economic significance, especially amid shifting power dynamics in the South. His emphasis on unity complements the region’s push for technology, infrastructure, and investment partnerships. A cooperative southern bloc could strengthen negotiations with the Centre, attract global investors, and boost India’s southern economic corridor.
