Hyderabad’s new 400-metre Moosarambagh high-level bridge over the Musi is expected to improve connectivity and reduce traffic congestion between Amberpet and surrounding areas.

Hyderabad: A new 400-metre high-level bridge over the Musi River connecting Amberpet and Moosarambagh was inaugurated on August 31, marking a major connectivity upgrade for commuters in the area. The bridge was built at an estimated cost of ₹52 crore and is 14.5 metres wide, with dedicated pedestrian footpaths.

The bridge is expected to reduce travel time and ease pressure on existing routes, including the Chaderghat corridor. Its elevated design is aimed at avoiding the traffic disruptions that occurred when the old low-level crossing was submerged during heavy flooding.

Analysis: The new crossing should provide particular relief to daily commuters travelling between eastern Hyderabad neighbourhoods. Its long-term value, however, will depend on smooth approach-road connectivity and effective traffic management around the bridge.
