Goadh Foundation to Host Landmark Anti-Female Foeticide Event on Dec 2 in New Delhi
New Delhi: In a powerful call to protect the dignity and right to life of girl children, Goadh Foundation is set to organise a landmark event titled “India’s Voice Against Female Foeticide” on 2 December at the Ambedkar Auditorium, New Delhi. The programme aims to highlight the urgent need to prevent female foeticide and promote a society where every daughter is accepted and nurtured.
Founded by Mohammed Nizamuddin, Goadh Foundation has emerged as a committed non-governmental organisation working to rescue abandoned girl children and create awareness against gender-based discrimination. What began as an emotional response to reports of baby girls abandoned at birth has now evolved into a movement advocating compassion, responsibility and change.
Speaking ahead of the event, Nizamuddin said that “true social progress is only possible when every girl is given the chance to live with dignity”. The foundation provides care, rehabilitation and educational support to abandoned daughters and advocates stronger legal and social mechanisms to stop female foeticide.
The upcoming programme is expected to bring together social activists, community leaders and citizens who believe in gender justice. It will also feature stories of survival and hope from children supported by the foundation.
Female foeticide continues to be a hidden social crisis in several parts of India despite legislative safeguards. Campaigns like this give voice to the issue, encourage stronger community engagement and remind policymakers of their responsibility.
With the choice of venue—Ambedkar Auditorium—the foundation reinforces Dr B.R. Ambedkar’s message of social equality and human rights, making the event symbolic as well as impactful.
