GHMC will hold its 12th general body meeting on November 25. With tenure ending in February 2026, this session may be the last for the current corporation.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is set to conduct its 12th general body meeting on November 25 at its central office. This session is likely to be the last for the current elected body, which came into power in February 2021 and completes its five-year term in February 2026.

Currently, GHMC has 146 sitting corporators out of the total 150 seats. The party-wise strength reflects a politically diverse council, with AIMIM and BJP holding 41 seats each, followed by BRS with 40 corporators and Congress with 24, which includes members who shifted from BRS. Four seats are vacant, owing to two deaths and two resignations after members were elected as MLAs.

The upcoming meeting is expected to be significant as the current body's tenure moves toward its final phase.

Analysis: The meeting could play a crucial role in shaping final decisions before the municipal term concludes. With multiple parties holding almost equal representation, consensus-building may be challenging. Local residents should track outcomes closely as this session could influence governance strategies ahead of the next municipal elections.
