Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has begun linking Property Tax Identification Numbers (PTINs) with electricity connections of TSSPDCL to curb misuse and boost revenue. In the first phase, 96,938 PTINs were linked with non-residential electricity accounts across all zones.

GHMC Additional Commissioner (IT & Revenue) Anurag Jayanthi said the data integration will strengthen tax collections, curb leakages, and ensure accountability. Zone-wise, the highest linkages were in Charminar (26,056), Khairatabad (22,514), and Secunderabad (22,005).

Jayanthi also announced that GHMC will now accept only online applications for advertisement permits to ensure transparency.
