Congress Alleges BJP Manipulated Telangana Poll Results
TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud accused BJP of winning 8 Telangana Lok Sabha seats through “vote chori,” echoing Rahul Gandhi’s claims of electoral malpractice.
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud has charged the BJP with securing eight Lok Sabha seats in Telangana through “vote chori.” Addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan, he asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi trampled upon democratic norms and constitutional principles to stay in power.
Goud also supported Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of widespread electoral fraud, stating that the claims were backed by concrete evidence. To mobilize public opinion, the Congress announced a signature campaign across Telangana, seeking at least 100 endorsements from every village. These will later be submitted to the Election Commission to demand action.
The TPCC chief further accused the BJP of deliberately stalling BC reservations and neglecting the concerns of backward communities. Party leaders highlighted alleged voter list irregularities in GHMC areas, reinforcing their charges of malpractice.
Analysis / Context:
Allegations of vote manipulation are not new in Indian politics, but repeated claims risk eroding public confidence in electoral institutions. For Telangana’s voters, such issues highlight the importance of monitoring electoral rolls closely and participating in democratic processes to safeguard transparency.
