Telangana CM Revanth Reddy reviews proposed alignments for Hyderabad–Bengaluru and Hyderabad–Chennai high-speed rail corridors as RITES begins DPR preparation following Union Budget announcement.

In a key step following the Union Budget announcement on new high-speed rail corridors, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy examined the proposed routes for the Hyderabad–Bengaluru and Hyderabad–Chennai lines and shared his recommendations with officials.

The Ministry of Railways has assigned RITES Limited to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for these high-speed corridors. During a presentation at the Chief Minister’s official residence in New Delhi, RITES representatives outlined the preliminary alignments and the broader DPR roadmap through a detailed briefing.

After reviewing the proposed routes, the Chief Minister suggested modifications and inputs concerning alignment planning and the overall DPR framework. Officials present included Principal Secretary to the CM K.S. Srinivasa Raju, Secretary (Coordination) Dr. Gaurav Uppal, and RITES Executive Director (Urban Infrastructure) Lalit Kumar.

High-speed connectivity between Hyderabad and major southern metros could significantly alter regional mobility patterns. If implemented efficiently, the project may strengthen economic linkages, reduce travel time and boost investment flows. However, careful route planning and urban integration will be crucial to ensure long-term viability and public acceptance.
