Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the government will work to reduce the minimum age for contesting Assembly elections from 25 to 21 years, inspired by Rajiv Gandhi’s decision to lower the voting age from 21 to 18.

Paying tributes on Rajiv Gandhi’s birth anniversary, he highlighted the former Prime Minister’s vision for youth empowerment, women’s representation in politics, and technological reforms that shaped Hyderabad into an IT hub.

Revanth Reddy said his government will continue Rajiv Gandhi’s legacy by developing Hyderabad as a world-class city. Ministers, MPs, MLCs, and public representatives joined the programme at the State Secretariat.
