CM Revanth Puts Govt School Works Under TGEWIDC

Hyderabad: Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy has ordered that all construction works in government schools be brought under the Telangana Education & Welfare Infrastructure Development Corporation (TGEWIDC) for better monitoring, transparency, and speedy execution.

At a review meeting, he directed officials to prioritise building toilets and boundary walls in girls’ schools, ensure mid-day meal payments through the green channel, and introduce container kitchens with solar panels. He also ordered mandatory facial recognition for attendance in all schools and colleges, hiring female counsellors in Gurukul girls’ schools, and faster disbursal of sanitation funds.

  • Attendance Monitoring: Facial recognition to be made mandatory for students and teachers in all schools, colleges, and professional institutions to improve attendance and accountability.

  • Mid-Day Meals: Payments to be released through the green channel for timely settlement of bills. Introduction of container kitchens with solar roof panels for sustainable cooking.

  • Sanitation: Speedy release of funds for cleanliness works under Amma Adarsha Pathashalas.

  • Counseling Support: Appointment of female counsellors in all Gurukul girls’ schools for emotional and behavioural support.

  • Student Data: Collection of records of all students who studied in government schools and colleges over the last 10 years, noting that 90% belong to SC, ST, BC, and minority communities.
