HYDERABAD: The BRS on Monday accused the Telangana government of fostering a “commission raj,” alleging that payments are being cleared only for those willing to pay bribes.

In a statement, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao said that a protest staged at the Secretariat, right outside the Chief Minister’s office, was “a stark reflection of the government’s moral and administrative collapse.”

Rama Rao claimed that while the government was quick to clear multi-crore bills of big contractors—some allegedly linked to Cabinet ministers—small contractors were being “harassed and denied payments simply because they refused to pay a 20 per cent commission.”

He demanded an independent probe into the alleged commission racket, recalling that similar protests had earlier taken place outside the Deputy Chief Minister’s chamber. “Now, contractors have reached the CM’s office. What more proof is needed of this administration’s decay?” he asked.
