Akbaruddin Owaisi Questions Govt, Seeks Clarity on Kaleshwaram Project

Hyderabad: AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Sunday questioned the Congress government over the PC Ghose Commission report on the Kaleshwaram project. “The commission didn’t do its job well. It named one contractor while several were involved. Why ignore the CAG report?” he asked in the Assembly, urging the government not to “abandon the case by handing it to CBI.”
Owaisi also pointed out contradictions in Congress statements — irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy said no land was irrigated, but CAD records showed 19 lakh acres were stabilised. He further noted that while some ministers claimed the project “collapsed,” others said Godavari water would be diverted to Musi under rejuvenation plans.
CM Revanth Reddy responded saying, “I know how to run the House. You can give suggestions, but decisions will be taken by the government.”
