Telangana CM Revanth Reddy announced that the All India Congress Committee will pick the party’s candidate for the Jubilee Hills by-election. Party leaders asked to prepare booth-wise strategies.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday confirmed that the All India Congress Committee (AICC) will take the final call on who will contest the upcoming Jubilee Hills Assembly bypoll on behalf of the Congress.

At a strategy meeting with senior party leaders in Hyderabad, Revanth emphasised that ground-level reports will play a key role in shaping the Congress campaign. “I will personally review the efforts being made by our leaders to ensure victory in Jubilee Hills,” he said.

The by-election was necessitated following the sudden demise of BRS legislator Maganti Gopinath on June 8. Revanth directed party cadres to prepare booth-wise micro plans and maintain strict coordination during the campaign. “Unity and grassroots-level mobilisation will be decisive,” he added.

Analysts say the Jubilee Hills bypoll will be closely watched, as it falls in one of Hyderabad’s most politically influential constituencies, with both Congress and BRS seeking to consolidate urban voters.
